Personally I prefer to roll them down a tail gate on pallets then straight into the customers garage. Fast and easy. Mine are full cu m bags and I can only ger two on at a time. Just considering a bigger trailer at present, had three bags to deliver last night. This looks like it would be fine:

 

CT Tiltbed - New & Used Trailers - Horsebox, Livestock, Plant, Tippers, Car Transporters, Flatbed, Box Van, Spares

 

Pump it up and roll the bags off, just a bit big to get in some places perhaps.

I have one such trailer coming up for sale - not as big but has a hiab which can be powered by 12v battery (reservoir and pump are on the trailer) or direct from another source like a tractor. It hasn't been used for two years primarily because it is trapped at the wrong end of the shed. Moves are underway to clear everything out of the way so I can get at it. I will stick it on the Classifieds as soon as it surfaces. :thumbup:

I think i should go down the dumpy route as i sell my hilux single cab full of barn dried hardwood for £75.00 and it takes 3 full dumpy bags to fill the back of my truck.id be on a winner selling dumpy bags.

If you are selling 2 cubic meters (3 x .66) for £75 you definitely need to stop and take stock of what you might be missing out on.:001_smile:

I know but it seems to be the max you can get around my way! im seen as one of the most expensive I dont do it in a big way its just arb waste, guys around me doing pick up loads for £60.00 and its good wood, I think in general people think 1 dumpy bags more than a pick up load so think they get a better deal.

One thing you need to think about with cranes on trailers is weight.

 

Just doing deliveries you will require a tacho if you gross maximum train weight is allowed to be over 3.5 tonnes. the is the weight on the trailers ID plate + teh weight of the towing vechicle. The Defender is 2.4 from memory, or maybe thats Disco, either way you certainly cannot pull a trailer any bigger than a decent wheel barrow without a tacho if doing hire and reward which you would be.

 

If the trailer only has a max permitted gross weight ( fully loaded including trailer itself) is 3.5 tonnes ( being a tri axle it probably is at least that) then you not only need tacho but also O licence, operating center, CPC etc etc. IFW will on the production line down plate a trailer to whatever you want within reason so I understand, this will of course restrict carry capacity. 6 bags of hard at 300kg = 1.8t + trailer, 700kg + crane ??Kg.

 

I have recently been through this with a fine tooth comb having been pulled off the M6 recently. My Disco now has a nice new tacho !!

Plus that crane trailer has a nose weight of 400kg as stated in the ad, most vehicles have a max nose of 75kg with defenders at 150kg, so you would need a mog or a tractor tow it legally??? :thumbdown:
