Ok, so normally I would submit a sketch plan regardless of whether tree is TPO or conservation area. On this occasion I have re-submitted an application which was sent to me back requiring additional information, this time without a plan, as I assumed they would have the original.

They do, but it has not "scanned in well" and are requesting another.

According to section 8 of the application form "A sketch plan is also advised when notifying the LPA of works to trees in a conservation area"

So if it is only advised.........

So long as the trees can be easily identified without a plan, no plan is required.

I don't think I have ever submitted a plan with a CA notification and often don't with a TPO application.

I think in these days of cut backs some LA's will try to find any excuse to reject a application/notification, as it lessons their work load.

I don’t see how it can lessen the workload, rejecting the application requires writing a letter, dealing with the issue requires writing a letter, rejecting the application then dealing with it requires writing 2 letters, surely that’s more work

:dito:

How would it lessen the work load? it still has to be delt with.:001_rolleyes:

Thanks skyhuck, that's what I thought. Ultimately all I was trying to do was save me, and them a bit of time and effort. There are only 2 trees in the garden, an ash and a cypress, so it should be pretty easy for the planning officer to tell one from the other :001_huh: I would hope a bit of common sense would prevail.......although this is plannng we are talking about
