Yep......fell em :thumbup1:

Would you of let your kids annoy the neighbours in the early hours Andy, don't answer I know what you'll say to that! my boy 7 makes mothers days cards at school but never fathers day cards, the reason is half if not more don't have one around [my own brother the waste of space has fathered and left two family's] we my friend are a minority!

I hate to think what my kids might of turned out like had I not of been around to lay down the law, obviously not all kids go off the rails, but I bet Hamas yobs fitted the category...

All of you older chaps blaming the young 'uns, whos generation were they raised by?:sneaky2:

As a relatively young person myself, it's exceedingly irritating that older generations have one big tar brush and paint the kettle black and all that. As has been said, there are bad eggs in every generation and always has been.

The kids I refered to in the original post are the type that carry weapons, mug people, intimidate people and harass old folks. Kids that think they have to stab someone or shoot someone to be respected.

The kids I,m talking about are like the ones that robbed the foreign student that desperately needed help after his jaw was broken in the London riots, instead he was robbed.

These kids are scum, no other word for it

For some reason people think we,re on about all kids.....we,re not.

I wasn't referring to your post, I think people like that are despicable. My post was more aimed at the older members who seemed to take this thread as an "in my day" younger generation bashing chance and let rip. They aren't all bad and it isn't proportional representation you see. The press only tell you of the bad ones, you only see the bad ones on the street during the day, as most are at college, work etc, and for those same reasons, you only see the bad ones in the street at night.

itstrue, and i never said all younguns are rotten, our tom (aprentice) is a fine fine lad, and were proud to have him on the team.

but were not talking about the gooduns, were talking about the rotten, and they are far more rotten than the generations prior.

in fact I would say that if these kids where around in the post war era, they would have been kicked out of their homes and wider communities if not sent out to sweep minefields!

good post. im 27 so not in the present kid generation or old enough to parent them, but i am disgusted and angered by the behaviour of many of this age. they are not all bad obviously, but the kids that dean describe are scum, and there is no excuse for it.

Wasnt it Plato back in 500BC that said something along the lines that the children of toady dont respect their elders etc.

It seems that youth has and always will disrespect the elder folks but I think that isnt what is happening 'these days'

It IS far worse to the point of inciting violence for the sake of it.

I dont think some people really realise what is going on.

It is a slightly different world now for the youngsters,we have new ways of comunicating, with immediacy,& an overwhelming obligation to fit in,( mobiles & facebook etc),a famine of work potential, disaffected parents,& a softness in the schools.

The throw off from this is out there to be seen,& the kids that are victim to this can become intoxicated by their plight to the extent that they become everything that we resent, then you get your 'hangers on' who think its cool to follow the bad ones.

Not too long and you have a new sub-culture with their own rules,no respect for their surroundings,(people & property),the catalyst is the dealers in drugs & weapons who thrive on it & get the easy ride.

But at the end of it,some will be as hard as you can get, some just sheep.

When I was young I was one of those (few) who were on a mission of self destruct,we kept fit, boxed etc,but were out for as much quality trouble as we could rightously find,I stopped all that through loving a lass, mates got shot etc, banged up,it was all a great big laugh at the time, even to the extent of it being funny as one at a time your mates fell victim to one thing or another.

I dont know that it is different now, other than more infectious to the youngsters due to the coms that we never had & they do have in this time.
