Yes, they've played a blinder. They've set off a wave of panic buying, so I'd imagine tanker drivers will all be on overtime to keep up with demand. That overtime will be useful for them - it'll tide them over if/when they strike.

My nearest garage closes at 8pm. Apparently last night cars were queuing beyond that and they didn't dare close up.

mad here to jon,, iwe had to drive other to the otherside of mk this morning to fill the chipper up, bout 9 miles or so

If anyone wants to make money out of this chaos - try this.

Get yourself a white coat and a book of some sort of coupons.

Find a big queue at a garage.

Walk along the first few cars and just tell the drivers to be patient, theres plenty of fuel.

Once round the corner or out of sight of the garage ...

tell each driver they can only have £40.00 of fuel and they have to pay in advance, give each one one of your coupons.

In ten minutes you'll have raked in a fortune - before the first 'pre-paid' customer gets to the garage.

Meantime you run like hell and laugh for ever more.

Local garage here in Northwood is out of diesel, so is the Watford Tesco. Hoping there is enough in the tank to get me to get to Gatwick so I can get up home to see the family Bloody idiots.

 

Mind you I did offer my services. I quite fancy the miltary getting me HGV etc trained
