What kind of tank would s logsplitter need. It's going to be fun by a 13hp engine and pump. Is 14l enough/too much? Cheers mike

The tank capacity needs to be the pump output in a minute, any less and oil cooler needed. Also needs to be taller than wide with the return under the oil surface.

at that flow rate i presume your using a haldex type twin pump ,if thats the case you'll need a tank of 72lt or more(or a oil cooler) also your return line filter, hoses and spool valve need to be capable of that flow

i've the same engine and pump size on my road tow splitter and have found that it gets too hot when used continously thats why i'm going back to the standard gear pump that i originally built it with

Cheers guys I'd found one on eBay but left it too late and it's gone now. I havnt picked the engibe up yet but apparently its a 72 l/min pump. Cheers again

A 13 hp engine wont run a 72l/min pump. As regards oil tank size aim for twice the flowin L/Min ie 20l/m pump 40l tank. Use big diameter pipe work an avoid sharp bends.
