Many years ago at my previous address I got a similar result, but without me doing anything.

It happened as follows,

I got a call from the planing saying "we have had a complaint about you running a business from the field at the back of your house"

I replied "have you had a look??'

her "yes"

me "was it the sort of thing you expect to see in the country side, piles of logs, etc? its not as though I'm storing fridges or some other eye sore"

her "well yes, but you need to apply for planning consent"

They then wrote to me, which I ignored.

She rang again and asked why I had not written in reply to their letter.

I replied that if I wrote back they would start a file with my name on it in which to put my letter and I did not want them to have a file with my name on so I would not be writing.

A few days later I got a letter saying my case was going to committee and I have 28 days to make representation.

I ignored this too.

A little over a month later I got another letter saying it had gone to committee, they had discussed my case and decided ...................to take no further action.

Thats interesting Huck,I have a field I use for my chip & log store,I have had previous with the council over this, (someone moaned),ignored it all,& it all died a death, that bit of trouble was over 12 years ago.

I have planted up some small areas with fruit trees & a few oaks,& willow in the lower areas.

Had no contact with the powers that be for years now, other than getting the tree officer over there to tpo an oak on the boundry that was under threat,& used that as a litmus test to see if they kicked off again about my nefarious activities.

Change of use to agricultural land for storage, processing and delivery of firewood with landscaping and access enhancements

Reasons

(1) The proposed development did not make adequate provision for the loading and unloading of goods vehicles within the site and would, therefore, encourage such vehicles to park on the highway with consequent additional hazard to all users of the highway. The proposal was therefore contrary to Policy 49 of the Somerset and Exmoor National Park Joint Structure Plan Review (adopted April 2000);

(2) The application, which proposes the removal of a substantial area of existing roadside vegetation, was considered to be unacceptable as it would have a detrimental landscape impact on the character of the area, contrary to Taunton Deane Local Plan Policies EN6 and EN12.

Also resolved that enforcement action requiring the cessation of the use of land for the delivery, storage, processing and distribution of firewood and logs be not taken.

Hi Mate

That's a great result for you, and also one of the weirdest planning descisions I've ever seen.

Might just have to ring my folks up and tell them to make further objections to the planners :001_tt2::001_tt2::biggrin:

Good luck with that, always seemed to me to be the sort of village where a few people think they are more important than anyone else (quite a few of them would be on the parish council!!)

I think thats most villages unfortunately.
