Any chance you can ask your lead how he saw it? Was he browsing categories or was it a search? If so, any search terms etc. I can search through deleted listings as well and at least see the image they used and get an item number.

Apparently he searched for wood chipper and woodchipper and it came up somewhere.

As an aside, the following link on farm trader is my actual chipper (thank you to those that noticed). It is the original advert from which I bought the machine last November - for some reason it is still running on Autotrader. GRT repossessions are a decent company to deal with - they aren't involved in the loss of my machine.

I reported scam stuff on ebay & fraudulent listings, only once did ebay take action and remove the listing? they dont care they are getting their cut

just another bunch of crooks you cant get to talk to, hidden behind a button "Contact"

I have reported about 8 items in the last 6 months 4 of them dodgy gensets all of them were investigated and pulled within hrs. You need to cut and paste the item no into the right form and away you go.

Might not be anything but there is a 1928 chipper that has been sold on Friday-Ad if thats any help.

I hadn't seen that ad and I can't open the picture (if there was one) as it is listed as sold. I've emailed Friday Ad for a copy of it though - if they can send me one I'll know instantly if it was my machine. Cheers for the heads up.

Thanks everyone else too, I've had loads of good leads and I'm really grateful to everybody who is keeping an eye out.
