Hi I was wondering where people get there info on how to use new bits of kit. Do you just use the instructions that come with the piece of kit or do you research it elsewhere.

I have seen there are lots of videos on youtube for all types of kit but most are just Joe bloggs showing off.

How do you guys choose where to get your info from thanks chris

There is another thread here on a very similar subject

http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/40164-new-kit-info.html#p…

And there was one before that which no-one replied to!

Perhaps AT could be a conduit for forming local working groups [a bit more structured than rec climbs] where experienced users can get together with guys looking for a bit of supported experience with new kit.

It could work like this.

AT could open a 'Regions' section of the forum, where requests for support could be posted or if you have been using some new kit and want to share your experiences you could make it known.

Small groups could then get together locally and pool resources, perhaps make a few vids and post them all into a new thread on here.

Maybe even manufacturer tech reps could take part as well, we could travel from other areas to join in sessions where the manufacturer is present.

Sound like a good idea...?

A regional forums are a great idea, as are workshops!

I'm lucky to have loads of trees to climb on the estate and more than happy for people to come over for a rec climb/learning if they so wish!

In staffs if anyone wants any help/play just pm me!

Thanks arborholic i hadn't thought about the trade shows will add that to the list.

i know i keep putting up similar links but seems only a few people want to answer each one might have to put up a few more to get enough answers!

Another option would be to go to your threat and just post "Bump", this will bring your thread back to the top of "unread posts".

That way your thread does not die and people will read the suggestions allready posted and may add new ones :001_smile:

Personally I tend to only buy something I have seen or heard about and so already know how its used.

Cracking idea Simon!

Should start a new thread to get a feel for what others think and how many are interested and where they are.
