polytunnel

The way the government are involving police in investigating things that should be left to other bodies (phone hacking, footballers saying nasty things on the pitch etc) there could be a firewood squad in the offing! Particularly if someone bungs a Scotland Yard senior officer a few quid!

I think for some things we need a firing squad rather than a firewood squad.

A firewood squad would work quite well. I imagine throwing a few split logs at people would put them off behaving badly - famous people, footballers, their wives, the press who hound and exploit them, bankers, insurance people, can't forget them. Governments too. To top it off you could charge a tenner a bag for it, collect them all up after and then sell them to your customers after. Maybe pay job seekers a fiver an hour / minimum wage to do the throwing :D

Wet mouldy wood i dont want lol,

if your wood goes into the tunnel dry ie,not rained upon or covered in snow then split, you will have no trouble with mouldy damp logs.

we dry all our wood in a polly tunnel, has vented mesh to 1.2m off the ground, sat on road planings.

we have no doors and the wind blows a steady warm draught through during summer, couple of months and is bone dry.

I've used a polytunnel for 3 years drying firewood. Works very well - cheap and fast wood drying (although still takes a few months to get the moisture content right down). No messing about when pulling dry bags out in whatever weather.

I'd highly recommend a dedicated bag carrier that works on a forklift. You can then double stack and it's more stable.

Really you need one of the types that have straight meshed sides. The ones where the polythene stretches all the way over right to the ground you could have mould problems unless you have some pretty dedicated fans pulling air though.
