Am I right in thinking here then that in theory I'd be able to tow my 3.5t ifor with my astravan? As long as it didn't go over the 1600kg towing limit of the astra? Or have I misunderstood?

Well I reckon it was better as it was, this just opens a whole world of confusion and guesswork, not that it really matters to me 

How so??

Estimating the weight of your load is not made harder by the plate on the trailer.

Suppose so, though I di read somewhere that ifor trailers are designed so alevel load is equal to there capacity. Just seems more sensible legally wise to have it the other way, well to me anyway.
