we've been using a 30hp Landini on a job lately with 3tonn winch and loader with grab and it's been punching well above it's weight. Did have the timber trrailer behind it for a bit but it was a bit heavy on the drawbar for it if loaded a bit much. Currently pulling the trailer with and old 2wd internationla which is fairly small but have an alod 40hp Kubota to pull it with when we finally get a day in the workshop to finish getting it ready for the woods.

 

I think a bigger compact can work well on the right job.

I use a Landini 45hp with Loader and Igland 4201 skidder winch. It is very capable for what I need and it can be towed to site behind the Land Rover.

what will that Landini lift comfortably on the loader?

We use your's little brother 28hp landini and 3201 winch

i would stay away from your standard compact if tou are getting a loader as the front axels are weak as they are made to have higher ground clerance but this means there are a lot of extra bits to go wrong, and then with the extra loading they do not stand up to it always,

but do still get a loader its only 1/4 of a tool with out one, it worth the extra money. i would neaver not have one i this line of work

It wont lift a full dumpy bag of sand, but it would lift maybe 3/4 of a bag on the forks on the flat. Ground conditions/rear ballast and lift height make a massive difference to what can be done safely.
