The squeaking stopped by itself. I had a job on sunday and didn't have the bottle to remove the rollers without any replacement bearings ready to go straight in, it did a bit of squeaking but has been fine all week Been greasing religiously since.

no you may not bring any of your hammers near my chipper you can leave them in your new storage box....

LOL

Be careful...if a bearing or race is squeaking it is at least still working. Ime when the squeaking stops failure is usually iminent.

i have a 528 also that has squeaked from feed rollers for well over a year. Just keep greasing it but makes little difference.

Having read your post and mikes comments it will be in workshop sat for further investigation/repair. Thanks

The top feed roller bearings are sealed units. No grease from any grease points gets the them.Squeaking on my one,is usually small stringy twigs balled up at the end of the top feed roller.

Woodpicker has a good idea about removing the Spacer. You will see it when you remove the Bearing block. The earlier Bearings failed faster than the later ones. The ones I found were a bit wider than the originals and ment I had to cut the spacer down abit.

But just take the shaft out and have a look. Its just four nuts and its out.
