What the flip is this thing all about? I have a few lefty type anarchy type....err.. whatever type mates and they are all banging on about it.

 

As far as I can see it's bad news. What's wrong with the interweb as it is?

Its very serious. America is trying to take back control of the internet and regulate it for its own ends. Just google "who controls the internet " and you will get the background story.

 

I would say America is trying to play acting God in terms of internet censorship on copyright/IP.

I could never understand why George W doesn't believe in Darwinism when the evidence is staring him in the face every time he looks in a mirror.

Elg, what is the take on this in the states?

 

As I understand it, it will enable us courts to take down a site anywhere in the world merely on an allegation not a proven fact.

 

Given I cannot influence us legislators as I cant vote in the us this is akin to taxation without representation. wasn't a revolution fought on such a matter?
