Heavy duty brushcutter recommendation advice needed

I have the need to dissolve regen including dog rose, white and black thorn, tough herb layer and grasses, I am thinking latest generation brush cutters Stihl or Husky with the 2 or 3 mulching style blade, any help with make, model or blades appreciated. And no I’m not allowed to use my flails grrrrrr got to be hand work:thumbdown:

i run a couple of stihl fs480 with the twin blade mulching head, gets abused to hell doing rail and site clearance and cant fault it. regularly takes hitting big immovable stuff thats been chucked off the line and into the undergrowth in its stride and would happily buy another. The twin mulcher blade works god as the blade twists down at the ends so you can effectively drop it onto the undergrowth to mulch it.

the Kawasaki TH48 is a great machine i have two.

 

with the wing tipped mulching blade it rips through tough stuff , we even use it on thick patches of broom and gorse thats over 2meters tall and dense.

Garth mc thank you for feed back, i have killed one of my earlier Stihl brushcutters by hitting an immovable object! Broke gearbox in half and bent/snapped the inner driveshaft

As above, albeit i have the 450 model. But oodles of power, nice balance and the mulching heads are hardcore.

wasnt that top link you fed through your chipper was it!! what ever it was you must of hit that hard as mine seem to survive track clips / pins and the usual assorted stuff that gets thrown onto embankments!

Hedge cutter head on a pole saw or strimmer that can change angles is bet, just start at the front and shred the lot.

8 tooth strimmer blade ,used them for years best for docks as well

we run a stihl fs480 at work and its amazing, would definetly recommend it.

fs 400 or 450 with a 3 blade clearing knife is want u need
