its easy just make sure post are straight, do corners in 3/4 small sections and just follow the slope down .

once you get started its apiece of cake

I presume when going down a slope you keep the posts at 90 degrees to from the ground, rather than plumb???

Other wise the rails won't fit into the post properly??

Or am I missing something??

No, if the posts where horizontal with the plumb they would need to be proportionally longer than if the posts were in line with the ground at a gradient? I think...

The top rail would be level with the gradient at all times..

If that doesn't make sense then I've lost myself too:blush::lol:

i cut the tops and the bird mouth AFTER they are in the ground.

Set your line and put all your post in vertical, work out what height and run a string, if the ground has a variation in height adjust your string line accordingly, the posts are then cut on the exact line of your string if you are using 100 mm x 100mm posts/rail cut your V or bird mouth into the post at 75mm parallel with your new top cut. This then allows all the rail to sit tight into your posts place your metal fixing band over the posts and jobs a good un
