Where to go and what to buy??

Iwould buy your own PPE some of the smaller things you don't need if you want to be a woodman it is a good idea to carry a whistle and when you get a job and earn wages buy timber tongs heaven to your back you pall logs in the centre and not twisting your hip and hurting your back:001_smile:

In the list of stuff for the chainsaw course they ask you to provide 'clean brush for air filter'

 

This worries me that they would suggest this as in my opinion, it could force dirt into the filter, causing all sorts of problems with your air/fuel mix.

 

If there isn't an air compressor available, wouldn't it be better to give it a tap on something to dislodge sawdust etc. Thats what I do before soaking it in fuel.

 

I accept that they can't recomend the fuel thing cos of H&S.

 

Maybe you could raise this question on the course and see what they say.

Just wash it in warm soapy water and place on a radiator to dry :001_cool:
