When its a sunny day, it reminds me how much i love this job, its a real treat to get a dry sunny day tho- the rest of the time its just soul destroying because everthing seems to take so much longer to do that you can't crack the jobs out as quickly, iv got about 2 weeks worth of backlogged work to catch up on. I want to be a blacksmith and work in a nice dry warm forge!!

Total rubbish, deep slush, flooding and now heavy rain. Found myself in a flooding burn this morning (from snow melt), trying to fell a stupid stray Sitka, icy water up to middle and arms too, saved the saw and managed to cut the tree, they were mostly up to 15-18" today, spent the rest of time wading through deep snow more wet and got very cold feet.

Tip of the day that worked was keeping a dry pair of gloves down front of jumper( as well as my first aid kit and loads of kitchen towel for nose) so I had some warm ones to change into when the ones I was wearing got freezing and wet!

Meant to be doing a 6.5 metre timber Footpath bridge tomorrow. With cross struts into the banks. Not a hope in hell getting to the site as the farm has very helpfully ploughed the field we were going to drive around the edge to. His tractor is stuck out i nthe field complete with plough and i am not carrying a full bridge kit 900 metres across deep sodden plough. It can wait until the crop is in or until it dries out massively.
