I bet i know where this will end up:lol:

I hated prussik terrible knot, klemheist (made with a loop like prussik) is better or a Blakes (split tail).

Myself i quickly moved onto a hitchclimber with a basket style hitch - Knute or VT.

Do you know what length loop you use for the Klemheist?

Thank you very muchh

how do you get it to do that? i can only do it with at least 50' of rope below.

its taken a while, just constantly playing with different hitches, then different cord lengths and getting the right combination of friction cord and climbing rope, self tends after a few meters and grabs solid, helps having the bridge on the Tree motion shortened a bit as well so its all closer to you.

was out climbing. the other day on my hc and found on the swabish. and vt i had a few slips where. the knot did not grip i changed to a distal and now seems good. I might be wrong but. feel spider jack and lock jack sport was safer and am going to get the sport. on the basic. set up i use. the klemheist. knot.

  • 4 weeks later...

Got a short rope yesterday and decided to set up my hc on this I haven't used it in a while as I have been on sj, I have new England 13mm rope with hc and op with spliced eyes iv set it up with a v.t shown In the tree climbers companion. It's self tending so nice but isn't grabbing very well, I have 4 wraps and 2 braids do you guys think a new rope can cause it not to grab?
