Diesel in a petrol !!

Hi all I managed to put diesel in my petrol quad will it of damaged it at all ? I drained it and it's runs like a piece of sh*t ! Cheers lee

make sure you drain the carb too put clean fuel in , it will prob smoke bad for a few min then once fuel lines cleared it will be fine

Yup, lots of smoke, exhaust that smells like Kerosene - it will pass. Had a customer whose saw was smoking like a goodun - think he thought it was my servicing, looked a bit embarrased when I eventually changed the fuel and it cleared and ran beautifully:thumbup:

not yet, its a brandnew 3.5k quad so im going to have too

What have they done to it for £200?!make sure it's got a full tank when you get it back for that.

YOu arent going to have to pay them a penny. Just put loads of petrol through, that is all they wil be doing FFS!!

i managed to put deisel in my hedgecutter once:blushing: and wondered why it wouldnt start, after 5 mins i was cursing the thing and about ready to boot it! drained the tank, filled her up with petrol and away she went. ran smoky for a while but no further issues.

200 quid is a lot of beer tokens, not sure if i would bother, but its your quad. hope it all ends well:001_smile:

i didnt know whats was wrong with it so i took it to the shop i got it from , there was no commpression so they though piston rings had gone but found out it was fuel! so theyve drained it and checking pot and pistion tommorow !
