all this day rate stuff seems ridiculous to me..... i look at job and give a price.. 2 jobs for £400 and one for say £350 are easily done by a climber and 2 groundsmen in day...

job today is £4200.... started today and be finished tomorrow inc the neighbous job if he wants it done which was another £350.. so £4550 2 days with a climber and 3 groundsmen...

you wont get rich stickin to a day rate.... i get asked for day rates all time. give them price.. take it or leave it...

What machinery would be on a 2 day job for £4200? Is it local, I would not be able to charge that sort of money up our way.

At least dick Turpin wore a mask :):)

Nice one if you can get it!

£500+/man! - dreamland round here.

I agree that price should be per job, but you still need a basic day rate to start form which should cover wages, overheads, etc, etc.

It is then knowing your job and the customer well enough to put a price on the job. Cash flow is massively important - much better to have regular work than sporadic injections of money.

For enough nick, when you put all that into the equation I can see where you are coming from. Fair play if you can get it too. Up here it might be around the 3k mark. Cheers.
