big storm for Tuesday 956 mb - that's low

Just found it. Yikes, that is a deep depression. Hopefully it'll track North. There is a high ridge pushing up from the Azores.

 

Paul - lets hope the high doesn't come up behind the low as it moves through or we will have what I call 'the gear wheel effect' where cold artic air is drawn down between both systems.

 

The last low ran on a track over Scotland and the next looks like it will do the same, often they run up high through past Iceland.

 

 

I remember the 87 storm track right across England hence the damage.

Problem with storm damage 87 style was alot of cowboys made a lot of money by going out to buy saws and off they went - no training or insurance:sneaky2:

w tip of scotland on tuesday quickly followed by another low (possibly worse) tracking up the west coast and hitting the w tip of scotland again on thurs/fri. Both lows will probably bring strong wind from N/Wales upwards and across the north of england into scotland.
