Have these come with bark chippings?

Got a fung issue at the mum inlaws, had some bark put down for the kids play area and for about a month now these have been sprouting through her newly laid lawn. She's not best pleased, and was wondering if there is a safe treatment to get her lawn all pretty again.

Thanks in advance,

Si

So this is a question I have raised on two occasions without a clear answer. Namely, could we be spreading facultative pathogens (guessed that bit of science-speak, but you know what I mean) from mixed chip piles every time we sell the stuff for mulch?

There are even possible legal implications, imagine if you sold some chip to a gardener who was able to prove that their expensive plants expired because of say Honey Fungus.

What do the Funguys think?

If the chip is composted well and allowed to heat I,d always thought it would be fairly clear. certainly weed seed proteins are denatured in the heat

Wel, with respect, I beg to differ, I have chip here from long time back and when I put it on my garden, bang! forest of 'shrooms,

Some fungi need heat to form a mycelium, like fire pioneering species

these are beautiful cups and harmless

I would agree, but my mum in law only sees an unsightly mass "destroying" her beautiful new lawn.

Is there a solution to offer her ?
