Racist Tram Rant

J is it not just that these jobs are very poorly payed and people would prefer a better payed job??

Often immigrants are happy to take these poorly paid jobs, as to them its still better than the country they have left.

If we did not have immigrants maybe these jobs would become better payed in order to attract workers???

Again, I'm not sure that that is true. The pay in social care isn't that bad comparatively (certainly better than checkout work etc). It's the nature of the work that puts people off. Additionally, we don't really have a strong cultural imperative to care and look after - other cultures have a much stronger family unit.

I am digressing, but my feeling is that we live in a society where the number of jobs for those without skill or education are diminishing, whilst at the same time the population of those without skill or education is increasing. This disparity breeds to the kind of hatred you see in the lady in the video.

I agree, and if the drunken off her head woman is on remand, why is the coloured woman not being charged for her discriminating comments???

While I agree that it sometimes feels like it's one rule for one, on this occasion I don't think anyone could claim that what the black woman said was really discriminatory nor inflamatory. She was giving what in her experience was an accurate answer to a provocative statement from our bird with the gob.

I would disagree that the work immigrants do is poorly paid. Our neighbour employs 2 Poles, I'd take their wages for what they do!

The same rules apply to their employment as it does 'the natives'.... the work could be a little bit more demanding physically though, or perhaps less glamourous than most white Brits would accept....

The jobs aren't 'stolen' but are simply 'done by' immigrants because our indigenous menial workers have been spoonfed ideas way above their station by careers advisers, job centre & benefits staff and 13 years of 'you're entitled to what he has whether you earn it or not' socialism.

The greater part if it comes down to idleness and the insistence by the establishment that we should be a nation of professors and bachelors of arts and doctors and lawyers.

After what I was told at school I still believe I should be made Queen...

Because what she said isn't against the law, she was making a point she wasn't being racist. Is it because she said you's that want her locked. If that's the case then I would think that you to have issues with race.

"We come here to do work that you wont", "YOU" meaning white people, to me that is discrimination against white people. And I,m not standing up for the horror with the gob.

And on a thread about ignorant racism - oh, the irony...:001_rolleyes:

To be honest though,I rarely hear a Cornish accent in Cornish pub these days - usually some Cockney or other 'lifestyle' refugee holding court about the thick locals, and whining about how where they come from has been ruined by '' all them immigrants, mate''.:sneaky2:

:001_huh:

All depends what part of cornwall you live in:001_smile:
