What are the laws about climbing trees in public places e.g. local woods etc, i guess you can climb a tree in a woods with out ropes on your own no problem but what happens when you rope up? do you have to inform the council, is it forbidden, can you just do it etc etc?

Thank You

try climb the christmas tree in your town square.

I did after a few jars when I were a youth at 4am, kebab in hand.

It fell over.....

Just go for it! They don't have the option to refuse then!!

On the whole, I've always got away with it. Just make sure you don't cut ANYTHING, and try to leave deadwood intact and in the tree.

Only had an issue once where the tree turned out to be privately owned, but later got a call to survey it

Public places (ie where the public have access) are not necessarily owned by the council. I'm not aware of specific laws regarding climbing trees (although there may be bylaws in some areas), but as already said the important bit is not to cause damage to the tree.

If the police try and stop you tell them its ok, you're special branch.

ha ha thats reeet foooony that:lol:

though on a serious note, I gave up asking because if you ask you put them in a position, of course they will say no, dont ask dont tell and just do what feels natural, its on your time at your risk, just have a buddy at all times, even I do that much....

most of the time anyways!:001_rolleyes:
