i will be the first then! was in for 4 and a half years in 42. got threaders with the heirachy in general and though i would get back to my roots in sussex and work with wood instead. thought about maritime, the money is extremley tempting. i said to myself if im out of work next year i will do it.all the lads i was in the corps with are leaving and doing it, its getting big business.

How about you? been tempted?

are we the only 2 bootnecks on here??

i reckon we are, billy no mates they call me, thats apart from tree man tom:thumbup: iv been in twice, left and re joined and inbetween had a spell with the rubber dagers. i have now built up a steady business now and dont advertice much, most its word of mouth and repeat work but a few mates have gone into maritime work and im finding im been a tad tempted esp @ £300 a day. even at the age of 50 the offer is there. i like the thought of adventure:thumbup1: what do you think about it?ps i love working with wood but the civeys are hard work:lol:

What's 'Maritime' lads, if you don't mind me asking? (Pure civvy me, appreciative one).

hi Mark its security shipping or maritime protection- anti piracy insurance comps insist on it now and its royal marines who do it, even old sods like me are getting offers and at 300 sqwid a day its tempting.
