Rope Wrench feedback

Do you mean how the lj seems to bend to the left on the bottom attachment? If so, that's what happens before the rw is fully engaged, therefore only a problem if you're climbing around like that. Otherwise just descend a little so both the lj and rw are holding you.

Nice one ian, I had a play in a little walnut after you'd gone, trying out keeping weight on the rope and off the branch. Rads hardly seems worth it for returning, just a faff and extra gear, even on real thin branches that can't take my weight. I tried out a few extra clip in re directs for stability and they can make things easier on little wobbly droopers.

Going to find a big tree next week and try a work style climb, check out routes through the tree and how they'd differ from ddrt, probably time trial it against ddrt, though I doubt it will be representative as I'm slower srt.

That's exactly what I mean. I know it sets well when you descend a bit but I usually don't want to descend a bit.

So heres the video of myself and Arborholic playing with the Rope Wrenches. If you missed the reccy climb you missed out! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4u99KXlpzmg]Rope Wrench UK test 2 ( Joy Formidable - Austere ) - YouTube[/ame]

Yes yes yes!!! THATS what we've been waiting for!

Ok the deal is sealed. I can now see that the way I am trying to climb around is correct, same as you, so I now know I just need practice.

Having the two POV's running together is brilliant. That's the most informative and inspiring SRT video to date.

Curious as to why you don't put a hand ascender on, even if you don't bother with the foot loop. For me, it's just easier to hold the ascender than a skinny rope so it's worth the extra hassle.

Well done boys.
