hi

I have just tried to change the blade which i have done many times before but have now mangled one of the torx bolts. I have tried bolt and screw extractors but they didnt work. I think it may have to go to an engineer with an air impact driver, but if anyone has any ideas about removing the bolt it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Richard

I will second that a hammer and chisel works every time. I managed to round off the heads of the torx screws a couple of times. Failing the hammer and chisel do as I did and buy a tw190, no more torx bolts problem solved!!!

I have the same issues with the CS100 torx bolts.

They are just not man enough.

It is, I have found, the sap and resin that glues the buggers in at the head not rust on the thread.

I drill the head a bit then use a chisel/screw driver to turn them.

It always works but G.M sell these bolts at a premium...

don't you Pete..:sneaky2:

I've mangled one (so far!) and it took some effort to get it out! We used a big hammer and shocked it, then turned it tighter, snapped two torx bits (thanks tengtools!), after doing it ever so slightly tighter, it came out easier.
