There are NO plans to require Operator Licences for 3500kg trucks

There are NO plans to require MOT type tests for trailers

Tacho's are still a nightmare if you want to go over the 50km

They also have sensors on the motorway that can record your axle weight as you pass over them, take your photo and them they can pull you over.

They also have an Operator Compliance Risk Score with a traffic light system where vehicles/operators are graded red, amber and green. If you are red they will stop you every time they see you!

They have no money and massive cuts.

Thank you for taking the time to post this Ben. 50kms is easily breached. I currently use a vehicle hours log in the land rover with a Ifor williams trailer.

Looks like a tachometer is on the cards then!

A tachograph would be a better bet for recording your driving hours!

Brilliant news, can confirm the traffic light system is real also connected to the number plate recognition system, therefore officers alerted by your previous dodgy encounters or likewise if good on previous occasions your not worth their time.

So just to be clear we will still all be on a reg licence as now but we should not breach the 50km/30mile from base rule? If that is the case how many tree surgeons are travelling more than 30 miles to a job currently? Anyway thanks for finding out.
