does anyone know if new 660s still come with screw in oil and fuel caps, or if they have the new type now?

And if they are still on screw in, why? The 880 has locking caps, so it must be possible. Or is the 660 due for a replacement, 661 perhaps?

Sorry Peter, I've inly just seen this thread!

This is a bugbear of mine, I had it out with stihl at the APF. Basically stihl have hundreds or maybe thousand of 660 castings with the screw thread and the won't be changing till they are used up :mad1:

I have told my dealer that the first one they get with new caps has my name on it!!:sneaky2:

I think the new caps are an IQ test :001_tt1:

Spot on Dean!!!

Never had a problem myself :001_cool:

When I think back over the groundies I've had over the years their ability generally was directly linked to their competence at refitting the caps.

The numptys could never do them!!

When looking for staff I would recommend a "cap test" as part of the interview process :001_tongue:

Best idea I have heard in ages. A newby (ND qualified) once filled all three combi cans with.....Derv. Deep Joy:sad::sad:.

Could that be part of the test too please.

I can see a new thread here...go for it
