velocity is the one for spiderjacks, i used to use tachyon and then changed to velocity. better move for sure, moves way easier through the jack. but you need to where gloves too, to get the best effect for both rope and jack.

Never used the spiderjack, but velocity gets a bit slippy for me in the wet. Tend to keep a handled ascender on my harness for gettting up greasy trees with it.

Best winter rope out of those 3 for me is the imori.

Really Peter?

I am with you on the feel side, thicker makes gripping the rope easier on cold wet days.

IMO I prefer the Tachyon, as once the Imori gets wet it stays wet. I did about 6 days leading upto xmas last year clearing snow damaged hangers out of large oaks over woodland footpaths. The Imori gave me chronic tennis and golfers elbow. I think it is because the same fibre that give a thicker feel also soak and hold water for a long time.

My Imori was still wet after the xmas break, even though I had it hanging in an electricians coil for 2 weeks.

Dont get me wrong I like the Imori but find it hard on wet days.
