Best way to clean your smelly helmet

IMO its poor form ever letting your helmet get that smelly in the first place. Like anything else its best to prevent rather than cure, so wash daily with warm soapy water. You never know when someone might take an interest in your helmet and perhaps want to borrow it, or even just want to try it for size for 2 or 3 minutes. That could be embarrassing if it really hummed be prepared

 

so im guessing what your saying is to always play safe god knows what infections you could get from someone elts helmet

this is also true. I suppose there are helmet liners available there though, so if in doubt cover up, thats what i say

My wife used to clean mine regularly, since we had a kid, it doesn't get cleaned so often, she's just busy I guess.

Really? I had one petzl for over 3 years and never washed it at all. Never been a problem. I bet you lot all use bloody hand creme aswell..?

i was told either i worked out how to use the dishwasher or i would be shown in detail how to use the washing machine !!! Dishwasher winns hands down

Put it in the freezer

It kills the bacteria making the smell.
