Great felling.:thumbup1: Its funny, i never cut the buttresses off and i wouldnt think of felling engine side down unless it was a leaner.

More than 1 way to skin a cat:thumbup:

 

I don't know much about felling, but any particular reason for this - advantages, safety etc? Always like to hear about different techniques.:001_smile:

Just what i've always done really, feels more comfy to me that way, as for the buttresses i wanted to make sure trees left there stumps and also could of done with my big bar but did not have ........:001_rolleyes::thumbup:

I am very impatient , and don't do anything I don't have to lol

engine side down keeps the stump high, so it's another cut, another slice , more sawdust .

as for felling leaners, I rather engine down coz it's the pulling side of the chain, you don't have to work as hard and running out the way is easier lol
