If it goes all the way up there is enough oil in it, whatever you do don’t fill the reservoir with the tipper up, it will likely overflow when you send the body down.

Is there a sight glass or a clear tank?

If you need to top it up slow and steady is the way and don’t forget to leave a little expansion room in the tank

thanks for your reply, i cant see any glass window or any sign of a level? it goes up and down fine, just when i have some weight on the back it struggles to lift so it needs someone 2 push it at the same time

That’s nothing to do with the oil level, if it’s low on oil it just won’t go above a certain height, sounds like you may be overloaded (tree surgery default condition)

Is the ram direct acting or in a scissor type arrangement?

Posted
Its direct acting ram. maybe it is due to being over loaded. i am not really sure how much it is supposed to tip. but is does fully extend fine.

look under the pump you should see a large alloy nut ,this covers a screw ,start tipping then turn the screw think its anti c/w ? till it tips with out struggling it wont take much of a turn ,they are pre set to tip the trucks legal pay load :001_tongue:
