When up at Kew last week Tony Kirkham head honcho was telling us Roundup was being removed from our chemical armoury from this november unless you use ULV applicator

Has anyone on here heard similar. I haven't been able to find anything out from Google yet

Having spent a bit of time on the phone I can confirm Roundup is here for at least another 7 years(whew)

Maybe I misunderstood or maybe he did.

Agree with you- why ban something so enviro friendly.

So don't worry- my bad

I wouldn't say that roundup is one of the least harmful or damaging herbicides there is, yes there is worst but its not good stuff! Would be very surprised if it gets removed, It's too versatile.

So what's less harmful than Roundup? Apart from not using a herbicide at all?

The Patent for Round-up expired a long time ago. Many companies produce like products with Glyphosate, weather Monsanto takes it off the market is pretty much a mute point.

I am sure that the enviromentalist wacos will continue to work hard at removing what every they can to maintain their quest in life. Not to worry there will always be another product available for the consumer to use. Planned marketing and obsolescence at work.

I think the point to remember here is that while the primary ingredient glyphosate is considered safe, there may be human toxity issues with some of the additives put in along with it to increase it's action. So don,t get complacent when using the various formulations and versions on the Market and be careful.
