1/2 an Efco 156 (£20) + 1/2 an Oleo Mac 956 (£30) + 2 hours = pretty ace so far!

Seeing that post from Adaman makes me think.

I often have saws that are uneconomic to repair on a commercial basis.

I sometimes keep them around for a while in the hope of needing a spare, but don't really have the space.

I have thought of putting them on the bay, but to be honest it seems hardly worth the hastle, so they go in the scrap bin, which seems a waste.

Is it worth sticking them up on this thread, I wonder? I wont be selling them so should not infringe any rules, and it would be daft to put them on arbtrader.

Obviously any takers would need to collect, or arrange a carrier which would cost them something, and I would think it fair for them also to make a donation to the arbtalk charity, of say, £5.00 per unit.

Any thoughts?

Cracked on with the MS200Ts today, this one dosn't rev out and a good carb clean in the US cleaner has sorted it, did the full job on it, 160psi passed vac and pressure checks, started fine and looks a lot cleaner now

This is the second one, same bogging down on revving problem, stripped the unit down, found a badly split carb boot, damn lucky the saw didn't seize. Being thorough, I have pressure and vac tested, compression at 160psi so all good, recoil rope is ropey so replaced, pulled the boot off a body of a saw from the 6/7 units supplied.

All looks pretty good, the carb is off a 020T and has now been cleaned and reckon it will be fine when rebuilt:thumbup:

Not sure I was walking through the workshop and Mick showed me, so thought I'd get a photo and put it up here.

Yeah, as Gardenkit said, most of the time it is nice to have a definite fault rather than some strange symptoms that don't add up to anything:thumbdown:
