Dishwasher.....my wife would kill me if I did that, been tempted many times though:lol::lol:

Dishwasher is in the garage, picked it up from the classifieds in the local paper, run it on a hose pipe from the outside tap and the waste goes into a soak away. We dont have a dishwasher in the house, my other half always remarks that the garage is better equipped than the house.

Built up the MS230, it must have been regarded as not economical to fix as the crank bearings were shot to bits. Put a new set on and its a nice running little saw. Next was one of the 250's, got to the pressure test stage and it would hardly hold any, crank seal on the flywheel side was ok but the one on the clutch side was leaking.

Got Windfalls MS390 on the bench, he thoughtfully cracked the connector on the plastic engine cradle for the oiler elbow. A new engine cradle would be rather expensive so got a small piece of stainless tube and drilled out both the broken part (I broke it off to effect the reapir) and the casing and inserted it in both - looks strong and will definitely last.

My God! That 024 is well worn!

I've got an 08s Quikstop Electronic at the moment, paid £35 for it, has a new chain fitted...

Fuel tank was full of a dark brown liquid, refilled with fresh fuel, she goes but won't run for long before cutting out, stays running if you work the choke on and off so I guess sparks are ok.

I have a carb kit on the way, I know nowt about the 08, I've always wanted one though, proper beast of a saw!

It'll be like vintage working when I'm out with that and the 056!

That dark brown fluid is seizing juice:thumbdown:, the petrol has broken down the two stroke oil and left it with zero lubricating properties.

Hopefully the new carb kit will do it - I would check the fuel pipe, filter, impulse line (not sure if it has one - not had one apart) and the carb boot - if any are holed then replace them. Any sign of a racing idle and the crank seals may need replacing!

Good luck

Might be interested in the 024 if the price is right? my 390 is sometimes too big for smaller jobs...

Just pressure checked it and fired it up - revs fine, just needs the normal carb tune - nice saw and the body doesn't show the same wear as the cylinder - reckon the previous owner didn't clean the filter off regularly!

Will give you a price once it is all 100% and when your MS390 is done:thumbup:
