It's when the spring slips out the pliers and disappears accros the workshop. That's when the fun begins.

 

A bench vice is always usefull for doing these.

 

Pliers slipped at one point but were luckily stopped by the nice squashy bits of my hand, and I couldn't use a vice, as I'm still waiting for the central bit of the clutch to arrive in uk, all in all, this is the result ImageUploadedByArbtalk1375618871.065494.jpg.127bd58091fec0a1af8fdc7e018de4fa.jpg

Now you have me thinking. I can't remember if the centre piece can be out in with the outers together....

 

I do hope they can. I havnt done a clutch in a while, I'm sure it will be fine. :blushing::lol::lol:

 

Edit, I've just relised you can't. That will have to come apart again for the centre,.....

I've always down them in pieces. Never put the outer edge on first so alway looked at tit that you can't. Normally when they are on my bench they are destroyed so I rebuild form in out.

 

Learn something new every day. Just the way I've always done them.

This one you can, it's all held in place by washers once inside the clutch, I did check first

Got the 232R Husqvarna strimmer I picked up at Jonesie's show( Thanks Tractor62, Eggs and Wolfie :thumbup1:) so going to give it a good clean up. Already got a new air filter on order as the old one disintegrated when girlfriend's dad gave it a wash in petrol :001_rolleyes::lol:. Going to get the carb stripped out and cleaned so can anybody tell me the settings for the high and low screws, please? :001_smile:

Try with the L at 1 + 1/4 turns and the H on 2 turns, I struggled to find any info but the strimmer does rev out to 10,800 so setting the H setting will be easy with this info.

 

As far as the L screw goes, if it doesn't start on th eabove setting, try undoing the screw in half turns until it fires.

 

When it is going and ideling, turn the L screw in until the engine races and on the point of highest speed, turn out the L screw between 1/8 and 1/4 turns until the revs die and the engine idles and revs up quickly from idle.

Cheers mate! I've just got the HS 81 hedgetrimmer running but need to bring down the idle speed. I've set the mixture screws as per the info on the air filter cover but its a pig to set the idle on. :001_rolleyes: Probably something I've done when I put it back together. :001_smile:

Should be pretty simple, make sure the throttle snaps shut on the idle adjuster screw, if it doesn't then this can cause issues.
