Do you know what carbs on it Rich? walbro 199 or not? They suffered accelerator pump issues and start off being tempermental a bit like you describe.

Huskys do seem to need more fine tuning for some reason (higher revving maybe) I had an old 61 if the L screw was more than 1/8 turn out you couldn't even start that sucker.

It is probably a Walbro HDA 154 and won't be an issue, the 61 probably has one of the carbs where the L screw dictates the H screw mix and you find adjusting one screw, knocks out the mix on the other - can be a right bitch setting these ones up:thumbdown::lol: Usually found on older generation saws such as the 61 and older Stihl 024/026!

What I love about doing what I do. Every now and again something different comes along.

A malaguti 50cc moped.

This has been giving some trouble from day 1, it wouldn't start again after a run, engine would turn over fine but just wouldn't fire. Now bump start it and it would instantly start.

So first was a comp test. Was at 90-95 psi. Hot or cold and with some oil in pot.

Now this being a bit low it wouldn't explain why it would start very easily on a bump. If bumping it and it would take a long run to get it going I would look further at comp. but it doesn't.

So next up was a spark test, spark will jump a 4-5mm gap. So nice and strong.

Battery is good, spark is good, fuel is getting trough as plug is wet.

It's one of those faults that is hard to get on top of as its normally through running.

What's wrong with this saw??? Anyone want to guess. :laugh1:

It's a stihl, that's what's wrong!

Seriously who is stupid enough to put the chain on backwards on a saw that size?! I assume its owned by a pro user as its a little large for ringing up firewood

The full-wrap handle is made of soft squishy stuff.

The chain is on backwards.

Only wimps ladies and those into S&M type frolics should wear gloves.

It's the wrong colour.

I could go on for a bit....
