What's on your bench today?

You've seen the plug before, it's the one I posted earlier, both adjusters need tuning in, as I have run it on aspen, but not bothered to adjust it from factory, but seeing the manual as I went to adjust it, it was higher than stated so I thought I would seek advice first

Has it been modified in any way and is the carb the original?

hi there, ive already posted a thread but re directed to here, got a badly scored piston and block on a 200t, my best idea is new one, but just asking for suggestions or which is best to buy

The Cylinder may be salvageable - are the scores in to the plating or is it just transfer from seizing - get a pic up and let us see it:thumbup:

If the cylinder can be saved, purchase a Meteor piston, clean the cylinder and rebuild it.

If the cylinder is toast then the OEM part is best at around £150 or Tesgol on ebay has some decent aftermarket ones that should give you a working machine again.

Make sure you correct the route cause for the initial problem.

Is the saw fourstroking when revved flat out - I would set to manufactures standard settings and leave well alone. I would only retune if smoking excessively or lots of carbon is being formed!

Thats a bit like "how long is a piece of string" - just adjust it like you normally would - wind it in until the idle picks up and peaks then wind it back out until it drops no more and the saw sort of pops unevenly - it shouldn't be out any more than 1&1/4 turns - takes a little experience but too far out the saw will be lumpy and smoke on idle qand when picking up, too far in and it will lack power and bog excessively when cold.

Oh what a day. Better than yesterday.

Mower got sorted. Well sort of. It's a fix that will mean the owner can continue until the part arrives, or I find it...

Looked at the strimmers. One the head gearing has gone. So needs new. Komatsu gz30n.

The other the cable was tight so not opening the throttle all the way up. Meaning the engine wasn't revving as high as it should. Sorted the cable and its now good. This was a lawnflite one.

Only had a couple of hours today so that's as far as I got.

Ok. So looked throught interweb thingy and can't find any of the parts for the strimmer. It's not the plastic part of the head but the shaft part.

Been looking at a few other ones but they don't have the same shaft bit. The stihl ones are square but this one is multiple splines.

This could be a dead end. Unless I can strip the shaft out and transfer it to a stihl one....
