When I did bearings on my 64 I just put the cases in the oven on 110 for bout 15 minutes don't know if it was the best way to do it but it worked

Will have to remember that one. And get a picture of the other halts face as I bring a well roasted crank casing out the oven. :lol::lol::lol:

 

Good idea lake. Better make sure all the plastics and rubbers are off before hand.

 

Oh and have you got a gas mark setting aswell please! Could be a new thread here called baking with spud. :001_tongue:

Baking with spud haha I can say the other half was a bit upset not just with the oven baking my crankcase but also every single part of the saw strewn across the kitchen :lol: but anyway something has turned open on my bench today that would be my new meteor piston :thumbup:

Took the 200t apart today and removed the old bearings, did do a pressure test and the clutch side seal was leaking like a sieve.

 

The case came apart real easy after I took a sledge to it a few times. :lol: not really just tapped the crank with a wooden mallet and it fell apart. So much so that I had to act quick and catch the crank before it hit the bench.

 

Also got the quad ready for pickup. Refitted all the plastics and checked it all worked. Had some issues with lights working when they shouldn't but nothing major.

I can't believe the difference between them though low comp on the cheap cylinder despite being larger cc and after taking it off and looking closely the actual manufacturing looks terrible. I'm just shocked really but glad I took others advice and re-used the original cylinder with quality aftermarket piston. And all problems solved let's say I learnt the hard way as I'm sure others have but it won't happen again!
