Hello All,

More from the Stihl 041AV saga.....

The pictures below show what I found or have done during the strip...

First one, just shows new impulse and fuel lines fitted, carb has been rebuilt and float checked etc.

Second one, shows the impulse connection that a previous person had broken off:001_huh:, so had to be glued back in!!!

Third one, shows HT lead with section of insulation missing, right where the lead goes through the casing....it almost looks burnt through ???

Final picture is just a general view with flywheel puller fitted, ready for HT lead change, points check etc.

Thats all for now folks!!!

Any comments greatly appreciated:thumbup1:.

Regards

Martin Lightfoot

A husky 142 in, chain tensioner not working. The thread had been stripped out on the screw. Replace and it's fine now after a quick sharpen.

A mc crapok, fuel cap, would not screw on, bit of plastic stuck on thread, sharpen chain, and would not oil chain, quick clean out and job done.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how similar the two saws are to each other?

Nah, you arent the only one, don't know but reckon they come out of the same factory - both got links to Electrolux!

Not on my bench but in the dealers. Our FS450 this morning had a massive amount of fuel in the exhaust (well over half way full). We got it running but wasn't happy. It wont idle and it keeps popping through the carb. It is the 6th time in the past 2 months we have had to pour fuel out of the exhaust. We store it engine upright hanging off a bracket with a clamp on the shaft. Other than the way we store it any ideas what is causing the fuel to collect in the exhaust?
