Absolutely spitting feathers

Right then I'm off to stick my flag in a few nice spots :001_smile:

Thing is as well, they didn't even write to me and apparently are under no obligation to do so.

So if I hadn't have been so persistent in demanding the money to replace the two trees he felled I might never have found out.

Apparently some people have made fortunes out of doing this.

I think your idea of clubbing together with the scouts is a good one- strength in numbers and all that. What might work even better is to tell the story to the local paper

"Sleazy neighbour steals land from scouts and hard-working local man"

or words to that effect.

That's a brilliant suggestion Scott.

Get on to it Dean

I've had a meeting with the directors at the Scout camp and we have decided not to chase go into battle with him. All it costs is time, money and health.

I have been to see my neighbour and told him he can have the land, I'll not contest his application for title, but at the same time reminded him that he only has possessory title, which means he is not (yet) the legal owner of the land or the two trees.

Therefore he committed criminal damage by cutting down the trees. I have told him, if he pays to replace the trees and takes out the bottom runs of barbed wire to give a minimum gap of 12" underneath for wildlife passage, I will then put an end to any dispute and will allow him to apply for title absolute and give him the land.

I will therefore still be on good terms with said neighbour, my land swap will go ahead unhindered and I will not stress over all the hassle. I t will also put him on his back foot, ready for deano's pay back time.

One thing he will learn is he may have won this battle, but it will cost him dearly, one person he wont get away with shiting on is Dean'o

I once had a meal at one of his posh resturaunts at a peak time, friday night I think and I'm sure I saw a rat scuttle across the restaraunt, I may go back one friday to see if it is still there or maybe it will have bred by then, the infestation may have even spread to his other resteraunts :sneaky2:

Good suggestion Scott, I have another meeting with the Scout directors in about a week, who I'm sure will know someone in the media, national media hopefully :sneaky2:

Nice one Scott

BTW I can't spell resturaunt

In whatever agreement is drawn up is there to be something to stop him doing it again with another 15 feet of your land?

Hopefully Jon, the land will not be mine in a few months time, in the mean time I do a weekly border patrol on foot to check whether there have been any breaches in security :001_tongue:

just make sure you get your agreement with him in writing Dean. i think your doing the right thing, i would still let the FC and HSC know what the crack is. Make sure you cover all the bases on your next bit of land... hope everthing works out

all best

Cool. There has been much deliberation here and I think you've come up with an excellent solution; good on you.

It would be a laugh though if Giovanni patrolled his borders one day only to find a six strand fence six feet his side of the stream.

But maybe I'm a bit slow off the mark on that one...!
