my guess is someone has used the bar as a felling lever- the tree isn't moving and bar gets bent= angled bend- operator puts saw down in felling zone and fells using a wedge- the tree lands on the saw giving second rounded bend

am i close?

not really but plausible

I reckon the saw was on its side, pull start cord downwards, resting on one of the thinner poles you were felling, with the powerhead up against the log, and the tip on or above another log, and another pole was felled/ landed on the bar.
