Vermeer BC1000, should I buy one ?

don't know much about the bc 1000 but i have a bandit 150 xp awsome bit of kit would recomend the big chipper every time , i tow mine behind my 130 landy a bit of a lump i know but it saves so much time an effort especially if you get a winch on the back

 

I went down to buy a new 150xp and when I saw it in the flesh wondered how the bloody hell I was going to get the thing down the narrow drives.

 

I plumpt for the 65xl and the very first job was handballing it down a 150ft drive, across a lawn and into the corner of the plot for a days chipping. With the 150, we'd have never have got it in and would have had to handball everything and take it away

totaly agree feed roller power is where its at, can't fault the bandit , with top feed roller having a lift ram it will also crush reasonable forks as well

Looking for some advice on whether or not to buy a Vermeer BC1000.

What im really after is some feedback from owner/users of these machines.Do they chip well, do they break down, any common faults?

We intend to put it out mainly doing back garden work, so it must be able to deal with everthing from take downs to hedge clipping jobs.

Honest answers please

Those black flappy things on the back of the chipper, what purpose do they serve?

At least you would'nt have had infeed problems with the 150...

 

Why did'nt you go for a narrow chassis 90?

Do you put them up like that so you can actually see into the hopper?

well i know a company who has a jensen with them one. They took them off and a bit of Sycamore come back out the hooper and flew an hit a women walking past. They are back on it again now.

When we do highway work, yes we keep the down. When we're not I always have them up as I like to be able so see the feed-rollers working away..
