my geckos have regular foot straps.....i dont think i like the new velcro straps either

Does anyone know if the velcro actually wears out after time?

 

That detered me from buying a pair not to mention the price.

 

Though I love the fixed pad as it can't spin the shank around

toward the rear of y0ur calf. If you can imagine.

my velcro is wearing deva, ive had them 2 years. not a problem to replace it though, u just have to drill out the rivet, get the new pads and rivet it straight back on as far as i can see

Went and bought a replacement set of gaffs off Noddy, for our Geckos.

They had the straight gaffs on when purchased, so I've bought the angled ones so we can give them a go, and assess the difference.

 

Heres the problem ( Me Obviously )

For a bizare reason the screws to fit the different gaffs need different size star bits.

Like a complete Pilchard i've used a size 40 star bit which fits the new screws, to undo the old screws.

You've guessed it, DOH Gone and burred them good and proper.

 

Does anyone of you, in this kind and sympathetic fellowship have any tips on how i can get these screws out, bar drilling them?

 

Happy to absorb the well earned critisicm but equally appreciative of getting us out of a hole. :wave:

Use a centre punch towards the outside edge to tap it round and undo it.

 

It would be advisable to put it on a solid metal surface and give the head of the screws a tap with a flat punch just to shock them first.

not sure on them but klien ones have locktite on them so a little heat and they come out easy peassy lemon squissy

no, although i think i mentioned to you they were good on ivy, unfortunately im just too lazy to change them each time they are required.
