Help Choosing My new Arb truck

Hi there. well business has been crackin this year. so i am now looking to change my van. currently running a 2003 transit crewcab tipper. however its starting to look abit tierd. anyways im puzzled on what to get next.

 

im looking for a van that looks good and had a more refined cab. as this vechile will be used for personal use aswell. as im only 20 and insurances for a van and car are riduculess. good fuel enconmy is essential and i would prefer a crew cab so i have the extra room for more folk or for the tools to be safe when i go for my lunch lol.

 

Heres my options

 

iveco crew cab tipper new shape 140bhp

 

transit tipper crew cab new shape with the 6 speed box

 

vw crafter single tipper

 

mercedes crew cab tipper

 

have between 8k and 10 k to spend.

 

was think about a landy as i live in the country and when the snow comes i will still be ableto get to work.

 

any opinions, review i would be greatfull

a when last night to have a looked at a nissan navara truck. which looked ace but means i'd have tow my trialer which would be abit of a chew on. but i probly would cope with it.

 

 

Any review on the navara.. or does anyone use a 4x4 truck pickup truck like this for work.

navaras are a rough ride compared to something like a discovery, the turning circle is terrible and they cant pull much weight unless you get one with the big clutch. theyre not too bad off road but they do have a brilliant chassis rating so depends if you want comfort and pulling power or just a hardened run about really.

keep your transit as a second motor for the smaller / further away jobs and get a mog for the rest

thats a plan, but its finding a good mog at realistic money thats the problem.

wish i could keep the transit but i cant afford to run two vechicle as my insurance near 2000 quid. really gettin persuaded by the pickups as i have now got an ifor williams 6 x12ft trailer.

 

im like the navara purely becuase of the looks and fuel econmy 37 mpg we average this weekend on a run up to edinburgh.

 

hell of alot better than the transit .

I like my navara, does a fair bit of towing, hauling gear, getting muddy etc.

 

It's not quite an all out workhorse, and it's not quite a luxury car, but if you need one vehicle that will do most things adequately then it's great.

I've recently changed from Land Rover to a Ford Ranger Super Cab and love it. Its got a large Truckman canopy on the back so plenty of dry storage space and good area behind the front seats for gear you want to keep dry and clean. Does about 32mpg and is very quiet and comfortable:thumbup:

What did you go for in the end? I'm currently looking at a iveco 35c14 or a cabstar 35.13, both crew cabs, similar age & condition
