hi everyone, could any one give me advice on the best way to burn wood chip please? at the moment i am tipping on a farmers field but he wants me to burn as much as the wood chip as i can, or am i just waisting my time trying?

any advice would be good

It can be a bit of a sod to burn, smoulders forever, I have never suceeded.

probably need a plan B

let it dry out for a couple of months and a transit load will only take a day to burn

Don't burn it, give it to me.

if you can tip it somewhere dry you could sell it to a biomass firm. i've only burnt it by accident and th ehuge pile didn;t really burn that well the top layer flashed over then it just smouldered in very slowly. you'd probably be best to rake it out on a hot da to let it dry well then use a bit of diesel to get it going.

If your farmer has a telehandler with a big bucket, I would put him in touch with one of the firms that buy chip and leave him to it.
