You guys who are seeing your product fly out of the yard, have you increased your prices yet?

Last night I sold 2m3 to one the first clients i picked up last year, didnt seem to mind the price increase... which was nice!

Yep, prices gone up £130 m3 now, what are you charging?

Price increase for winter 1st sept. Cheap at mo 150.00 four cube direct from woods. Norfolk has lots of transits charging 130.00 to compete against, my customers don't stomach large increases so haven't been able to get prices up much yet, there's a lack of cash at present and lots of second homeowners who are very tight with their money! which is why they have money? much rather do four loads cheaper than one higher priced.

Are you saying four cube for £150 or £150 for one cube?

This has got to be the strangest thread ever?????:confused1:

If I understand you right.............you have a stock of fire wood that you expected to provide your income over the whole winter and spring next year. This timber is going to be sold way sooner than expected, for the expected or higher income.

Leaving you free to do other things to make extra income or just relax.

And this is a bad thing??????????:confused1:

I really don't get it???????:confused1:

I'm in the same boat, but i,ve been speaking to a lad today who as a massive and i mean massive stock of chopped logs that he is willing to sell wholesale at a price i can't even get close to, so if i start to run short i will get a bulk tipper into his yard and fill it up. If i had found this lad before i wouldn't of bought in any cord this year.

gonna let me know who this lad is??? the one one by my land??? :confused1:

12 foot ifor williams. four cube 150.00. yes thats right! 17 years doing firewood only in the last three have i paid for wood so can't suddenly increase price to customers by 150.00? still make a profit on 20.00 cube standing. i compete against heating oil and gas if you charge too much they get oil. we need to be careful people look for bargains and will soon go elsewhere. And i have no where near enough wood cut cos i've been too busy delivering!

I don't get your way of thinking huck, yes the wood bought in will provide an income over the winter so if we sell it all by november we could sit back and relax, but wouldn't you want to be selling firewood into the spring because i know i would and will be, unfortunately i only have the space to store about 300 tonne at a time thats with cut timber in the shed and cord outside with no scope of any more space unless i moved yards again.

Whats to be confused about.

do you really make £80 profit on the size load? I sell a level 10ft 5ft trailer for £150 and will be £175 this winter. Be brave I say
