I have a few new lads who I would like to provide training for in using a post knocker and wire strainers etc, anyone in the Lancs, Merseyside area or further a field willing to travel want to put themselves forward as a trainer for a day or two on a day rate. I will provide all materials and tractor and knocker etc.

Surely is this not common sense??

You would think so but when your client asks you to provide evidence of training, that’s what you have to do.

A post knocker isn’t without it’s hazards.

so if you had a member of staff who had driven a tractor for years but never ever erected a fence using a post knocker or wire strainers, you would be happy to send them to site with materials and machinery and tell them to work it out themselves as its common sense?

Fair point, I'm just thinking from my own perspective the first time I was asked to do this, no one trained me, and I got it done just as quick as the guy doing it the previous day!
