Wow, a kettlebell thread! This place has everything.

I'm still recovering from a 90 minute session with them on Sunday, being beasted by my trainer. He loves them, which means I do too, apparently :)

Forget crossfit, it will lead to injuries, and before I get bashed for this I am experienced in this. Put together a nutrition plan, follow it religiously, then get a gym plan hi-lighting old injuries and follow it. 60% of what you do will come from the kitchen, this is a fact.

Yer backs going to be in tatters doing that (video - page 1)...

Windmills or kettlebells in general?

Yes, they'll mess you up if you do the exercises badly but if you do them properly your back will be fine. It's all about where you bend it, which can take practise to get right.

Thinking of giving these a go. What weight set up do you suggest to start with? Personally I'm thinking of getting 8,12 and 16kg to start with. Is this a good start?

Cheers :thumbup1:

Depends, a few of us on here bought the 12,16,20kg sets. If your used to excersice and weights you may find the 8kg become too light after a short while. But then again i found the 8kg weight an ideal starter weight when i started attending a kettlebell class, just to get me used to the excersices, but again after a few months i was using a 12kg in class and a 16 or 20 at home.

Good luck, i love using mine.

Depends what your after, if its big muscles then heavy weights, not too many times .

If you want to strip down and get fit and lean, go light and do it for an hour non stop.

If you go to a class you will get instructed on how to do it right.
